Lactation Consultants
There is a misconception that breastfeeding comes naturally. Lactation consultants can address common and unique feeding issues, whether your baby is a term baby, premature baby, NICU baby, or a baby facing health challenges. Lactation consultants work with moms to help with pain reduction and healthy latching. They support moms to reach their personal goals around breastfeeding, or the decision to bottle-feed. They can take some insurances. You can choose your day and time for your consult.

Memorial Hospital (then became UCHealth) 2003-2017. Mom-Baby, float nurse to NICU . Lactation office 2007-2017. Met with dyads for initial and follow-up breastfeeding help. Worked with NICU babies and their mothers with breastfeeding. Developed staff training so that staff nurses would be better equipped to help mothers with breastfeeding. Obtained IBCLC in 2009. Have re-certified every 5 years thereafter by testing and/or continuing education. Have taken innumerable classes on how to help babies breastfeed when they are struggling, for any number of reasons.
Pikes Peak Lactation 2017-present. Owner, developer, and lactation consultant in a private community- based lactation business. Have taken training in basic cranial sacral work. Have participated in building a community collective of professionals working with infant feeding, known as the Starfish Collective.
Has an active mentoring program. Has already mentored one woman who tested and received her IBCLC.
Meets with ~30 clients/month.
